The Bakery turns Four
It it hard to believe that the little business that Griff and I
dreamed up is turning four. This past year we have
experienced every emotion possible both good & bad.
I lost my sister, and Griff lost his Dad and some how we
kept going every day. We debuted on the Food Network's
Road Tasted with The Deen Boys, landed on the
Paula Deen tour and Magazine, The New York Times
& New York Magazine, and we were voted Best Bakery
by Connect Savannah & Savannah Magazine.
In the end, Griff and I are most thankful for the friendships
that have supported us in our business and in our daily life.
One of the foundations of our business was to create an
extended family through our neighborhood bakery and I
can honestly say that we have achieved that.
It is especially evident when our first employee ever turned up
for a visit with us this month with her adorable boyfriend Nick.

Meg embodies everything we wanted to achieve. She realizes
that when we hired her, she did not walk through a revolving
door and that she will always have a special place in our hearts.
Whether you work with someone everyday or simply
serve up ther favorite beverage every morning, you just never
know the impact you have on each others lives. Griff and I never
under estimate the power of good food.
So Happy Birthday to Back in the Day Bakery and thank you
to all of you who have walked into our little bakery and
touched us in a special way.
