Frosting Shots and Fun

Yipeee!! I survived our first cupcake happy hour and it was so
much fun and I still have a love affair with cupcakes. I learned
so much as with any first. Next time I will make time for Lunch
and close my book for special orders. Next time I will make more
nana puddin' too.

Lauren and I decorated hundreds of cupcakes and we only had
about a dozen left at 8:00. Whew! I didn't consider the fact that
people would buy in bulk. I just thought people would come
and hang out and throw back a few. We decided to put a limit
of 12. In the end we had plenty for everyone to enjoy. Frosting
shots were a huge hit. I got the party started by buying rounds
for everybody. It was great to see people out in the neighborhood
of all ages enjoying cupcakes.

I almost forgot to take pictures because we were so busy getting
the cases filled so I missed some of my favorite people in the
beginning. Most of the pictures that I took came out blurry anyway.
Too much coffee and no lunch will do that to ya I guess.
Thankfully Griff came thru as always and got some great shots.
(no pun intended)

So many people came up to me and thanked us for planning
such a fun event. If you were there or if you missed it this time
and think we should do it every month let me know. I would love
to hear your feedback.

Your blog is so inspiring. I wish your bakery was nearby so I could visit in person! (I'm in Baltimore.) Congratulations on a successful event!

That is AWESOME! Frosting shots is a brilliant idea. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before all the other cupcake shops follow suit. I wish I could have gone. When are you opening a NYC branch? :)
