Because I like you
I can hardly believe it's November already and things get really
crazy at the bakery this time of year. This will be our very first year
to ship a few selected items, our debut on the food network and
our retail area is looking pretty darn cute too.
Believe it or not some people only stop in the bakery
during the holidays (I know this is hard to imagine for those of you
reading my blog)
I suppose when you have special guests coming in town you only want
to serve them the very best.
(Of course you appreciate good food every day and YOU deserve it)
It seems to me that all I do is talk about food. We pretty much only
watch food tv at our house. I read cookbooks like novels, I watch movies
that have a lot of food in them. I just love the fond memories created
from food, family & friends. I am fascinated with the stories that
surround food. In fact, I am in the process of writing a little story
about food of my own.
Just because I like you dear blog reader, I thought it would be a fun
diversion for me to share some of my absolute favorite
holiday finds. I am always looking for fun gift ideas myself, so I
thought you might be too.
One of my favorite shops "@home" is opening in it's new location this week so
I am sure I will finding all sorts of treasures to share.
Here is my first installment.
I think everyone knows how much I like Amy Sedaris. What is not to like
about a funny lady who started her very own cupcake business and collects
vintage treasures just like me. Her new book has party ideas, recipes,
crafts, and will make you laugh so hard that you will just have to
purchase your very own copy.
You simply can't survive th holiday season without the poster of Amy covered in
sprinkles, now can you?
It's such a fun gift idea and available in our cute little retail area of course.
Heres a little sneak peek.

How did I not buy one of these before I left the other day? How does Amy not live with me? Why have I not yet emailed you those clips of her from Letterman? So many questions. Working on answering them by Saturday!
I can't imagine some people only going to the bakery during the holidays. The rest of the year they are really missing out.
Food is also on my brain all the time. Favorite food movie: Babette's Feast
I saw this book in the bookstore and immediately thought of you. I was SO sad to miss this past first friday, but I will be at the next one in December! I'm so glad you updated your blog! It's a delicious read.
I'm so glad you are in the world.
I miss you.
I hope to see you soon.
Your friend,
Jennifer
I adore Amy, she's such a hoot. I will be in Savannah this weekend (looking for an apartment) and cannot wait to finally try a cupcake from your bakery.
Thank you for your post, I did not know who Amy was. Thank you for getting me hooked!
I've been desperately hoping that I'll get this book for Christmas! Amy is amazing. :)
One of these days I'm gonna get back in there on a Saturday for a tuna sandwich instead of just coming for Happy Hour to gorge myself on cupcakes. I love the cupcakes so much, but that sandwich. Ooh. I DREAM about it.
~Nikki from SC (the one with the cupcake jewelry!)
