Seven Things that make me Happy - Vol. 01
Yipee it's finally here! Happy 2007!
I am really looking forward to the new year ahead.
We were all so worn out at the bakery after the holidays.
I am enjoying our after holiday mini break catching up on so
many things that I simply had no time to do over the holidays.
(Yep like writing here in my blog, taking my dog ella to the park
oh & sleep, of course!)
We started the year out with our traditional eggnog
french toast made with Griff's fabulous bread. MMMm
that pugliese loaf was the perfect choice & I was so happy
that I snatched it off the shelf just in time before we sold out.
It was so yuumy along with some really delicious apple
smoked bacon & fresh fruit salad. It was the perfect way
to start the day and the year for that matter.
It is amazing how your mind can just get so clogged and
a few days off hanging out in assorted cupcake pajamas
can really get those creative ideas flowing again.
I am looking forward to sharing my new ideas at the bakery.
Last year was a rollercoaster ride for Griff and I. My sweet husband
takes such good care of me.
We are truly thankful for so many things and although I had
a wonderful holiday, it was a very emotional one without
my sister Natalie. She and I have such lasting holiday traditions
and memories that I will always keep alive.
My mother always taught me to count my blessings at times like this.
So for 2007, I thought it would be fun to share seven things that make
me happy at least once a month in hopes that they will make someone
else happy in return. My first list is all about the things I am missing
about the bakery.
1. The Smells of fresh baked bread and...Mmmmmm...chocolate cupcakes
2. A perfect latte

3. The sounds. Timers going off. The door opening. Laughter.
Elmo still tickles me.

4. The Cupcake in the window. Such a wonderful surprise.
(Thanks to my friend Meagan for making it!)

5. Our Red Picket Fence

6. Smiling Faces

7. Regular customers & Making new friends.

Such beautiful things to make you happy! It makes me happy that I was around to share in the joy of so many of them. Happy New Year!
I love cupcakes too!! Dan and I were thinking to Natalie this holiday..we miss her.
Thanks for the reminder to always count your blessings. Such an easy thing to forget... but when you take the time to do it it's always humbling and overwhelming.
Happy New Year!!!
I miss a lot of the things you love Cheryl, I will be in Savannah this summer with my boyfriend and i hope we can stop by and indulge in what I have been missing for over a year, and not just the best dessert in the planet...i wish i could grow another stomach.
Happy New Year!
[Here via Blog d'Elisson, who posted a picture of one of your mighty fine looking cakes!]
Ellison's blog made my mouth water and I had to come take a peek. If I'm ever in your neck of the woods I'm ordering the chicken curry sandwich and brownies to go. Plus that picture of the latte is a must as well.
Cheryl, you are giving me a reason to take a little trip south to see the sights and visit your darling cafe. Can't wait to try the goodies and have a mocha.
Also here via Ellison.
