Simple Abundance

I love the holidays! Holiday baking is always so much fun.
I am usually working so hard this time of year making
sure that everyone that tastes our treats has a magical
experience that I don't have much time to myself.
Griff and I already work long hours but it is just insane
this time of year. Thank goodness we still love what we do.

So now that the holiday baking is behind us, it is time for
our first of the year mini break. I am really looking
forward to resting, recharging and coming up with all
sorts of new ideas for the New Year!

2008 has such a nice ring to it. The bakery will be Five this
year and we are heading into a very exciting time both
professionally & personally.

My idea of the perfect New Year's Eve involves my sweet
husband Griff, my two dogs Sophie & Ella along with some
delicious snick snacks, Mmmm champagne and a pile of
my favorite magazines.

I also came across one of my favorite books that was
a Christmas gift from my sister in 1997 called
Simple Abundance, A Daybook of Comfort and Joy
by Sarah Ban Breathnach. I cannot tell you how
excited I was to find this book. I remember she
bought us each a copy that year after seeing
the author on Oprah. It's a wonderful book and
I am looking forward to starting the year off
with it. It was such an inspiration for us and
has so many special memories for me.

It is a thought provoking, list making &
thanks giving time at the Day residence.

There is just something about that ball dropping
in Times Square that gets me in an I can do
anything kind of mood. So in the next 365 days
I have new goals and new dreams.

Happy New Year Y'all !
May all your dreams come true.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :D :D

Did that author also issue a daily diary of sorts where you list 5 things you are grateful for that specific day? I did that daily journal for about 4 years starting freshmen year at college. It was a great experience.

What a perfect entry into the New Year! I'm with you- I feel great things coming in 2008! As I read your blog I ate one of those tasty biscuits you sent with Halli- what in thew heck was that? I want another one. We are already running low on our Back in the Day inventory here in the Philly-girls' household. I can't help but sneak a marshmallow every time I walk into the kitchen!! Thank you for my winter treats.

God, I miss you!!
xoxo
